Achieve in Science – Online Tutoring Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in online tutoring sessions provided by Achieve in Science (“we,” “our,” or “tutor”) via Zoom. By booking and/or attending a session, the student (and parent/guardian if the student is under 18) agrees to abide by these Terms.
1. General Expectations
- Tutoring sessions will be conducted online using Zoom. A stable internet connection, working audio/video, and a quiet environment are the responsibility of the student.
- Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared for each session.
- Any materials shared (worksheets, notes, recordings if applicable) are for personal educational use only and must not be copied, distributed, or resold.
2. Behaviour Standards
- Respectful behaviour is required at all times. Disruptive, offensive, or inappropriate conduct (including language, gestures, or misuse of chat/video functions) will not be tolerated.
- Cameras should remain on during sessions unless agreed otherwise, to support engagement and safeguarding.
- Students should not record or share sessions without prior written permission.
3. Safeguarding (if applicable to minors)
- For students under 18, a parent/guardian is responsible for ensuring the student’s safe participation.
- Parents/guardians may be asked to remain nearby during sessions.
- Tutors will not engage in private communication outside of agreed channels (Zoom/email/official platform).
4. Cancellations & Attendance
- At least 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may still be charged in full.
- If the tutor must cancel, an alternative session will be offered at no extra cost.
- Repeated non-attendance or lateness may result in termination of services.
5. Termination & Removal
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate tutoring services immediately in the event of:
- Repeated lateness or non-attendance
- Breach of behaviour expectations
- Failure to pay fees on time
- Inappropriate use of Zoom or any safeguarding concerns
- In such cases, no refunds will be issued for missed or remaining sessions.
6. Liability
- While every effort is made to ensure a safe and productive learning environment, Achieve in Science accepts no liability for technical failures, internet issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
- Tutoring is designed to support learning, but outcomes such as exam results or grades cannot be guaranteed.
7. Agreement
By booking a session with Achieve in Science, you confirm that you (and your child, if under 18) have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
